Marvel: 5 things we must see from the MCU’s Kitty Pryde
By Mark Lynch
Emma Frost as an antagonist
As it was mentioned earlier, Emma Frost is the first villain that Kitty Pryde ever faced. Since then, Kitty has never truly trusted her. In Astonishing X-Men No. 2, Kitty said that she learned more about good and evil in that one day and she was thirteen. If Emma and the Hellfire Club are the first villains Kitty’s faced, they should remain a constant in her life.
Here’s the good thing about using Emma. Her relationship with Kitty evolves. Recently, Emma made Kitty her Red Queen (Marauders No. 2). This means Kitty Pryde became part of the Quiet Council of Krakoa. Who would have thought that Kitty and Emma would learn to respect each other? Kitty may not fully trust Emma, but she’s trying.
It may be difficult to pull this off. Emma is at least 10 years older than Kitty. That means the actor playing Emma would have to be older. 15 years later, Kitty will be in her prime and Emma could have retired or (knowing the MCU) be dead. It wouldn’t be unheard of to make Emma slightly older than Kitty. Emma being the youngest member of the Hellfire Club gives Kitty an antagonist like Xavier and Magneto or Wolverine and Sabretooth – something ongoing would be a terrific idea.
