The Boys season 2  is set to arrive on September 4, 2020 and here’s why fans should be pumped!

The Boys season 2 will undoubtedly be stupendous. You know why? Well, because the first season was stupendous.

The show’s creativity made the series incredibly exciting. Fans just aren’t used to seeing this side of the super-powered community, especially from the heroes. They’re supposed to be upstanding members of the world; beings that we can look up to and admire – but not here.

The truth is that the heroes may be worse than the villains. The core group (The Seven) are the definition of amoral. Nothing about them should be admired – even when they do something good, we find out it’s done for selfish reasons.

Again, this is all part of The Boys’ charm. It’s a different take on what heroes could be like. And according to the new trailers, the next season won’t be much different.

The things about the show’s second season trailers is you don’t even see The Boys at all. They both highlight Vought International and members of The Seven.

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait to see more of our favorite cursing and violent heroes The Boys. Thankfully, what we did see was incredible. It was also disturbing. You’re going to see how truly deplorable Vought International really is. It’ll become clear that The Boys have to stop them before they become too powerful. The sad part is, it may be too late.

What can we expect from season? Let’s take a look…

The terrifying Black Noir

Erin Moriarty stated that Black Noir’s character is terrifying. Considering everything we’ve seen from The Seven, that’s saying a lot. The trailer, however, confirmed her comments.

We see Black Noir on a mission to take out what appears to be a terrorist cell. At first, Noir’s killing the guards patrolling the area with ease. Then he comes across someone with powers. The guy lets out a scream and burns the entire room. When the smoke clears, Black Noir remains standing. A little charred, but not phased by the massive blast. Next we see Black Noir carrying the assailant’s head removed.

Funny thing is, the slaughter isn’t the scary part of this. It’s what’s next that’s frightening. Black Noir walks into a child’s room with the severed head. You think that he’s going to kill the kid as well. He doesn’t. Noir takes a teddy bear and plays with it. It’s like he’s showing the child that he has nothing to fear.

Why is this scary? Noir just killed a bunch of people and turned the kill-switch off like it was nothing. He was completely silent while he murdered everyone in his path., then became empathetic for a kid who’s looking at a decapitated head. Does this mean that Black Noir has feelings or that he likes to taunt people while they’re scared? Either way, we should be afraid.

The almighty CEO Stan Edgar

As scared of the heroes as you should be, the company behind them is even worse. Vought International doesn’t care about anything but the almighty dollar. It’s apparent in the very first episode when Robin died. They didn’t offer anything meaningful; they gave a pitiful apology and cut a check for Hughie’s loss. Money that’s more than likely a drop in a bucket to them.

The trailer below showed an even darker side to this. They let us see them meeting to discuss the future of super-powered beings.

The part that stands out more than everything is the casualty allowance. While two people were discussing it, they mentioned that there would be collateral damage. People were going to die due to the hero’s incompetence. Stan Edgar (the CEO of Vought International) says officially, zero percent casualties. He then says,”But, code of silence? 34%.” They put a price on people’s lives while they ate their expensive lunch.

These monsters are aware that the people they employ are a danger to the world, yet they let them run wild so they can fill their pockets with money. Now, here’s the real question: Who’s worse, The heroes that kill or the company that allows it to happen without remorse? Both are equally responsible. However, the owner is the one to blame when a dog gets off its leash and hurts someone.

Meet The Seven’s newest member, Homelander.

This was hilarious. Homelander and Queen Maeve are doing a commercial for the United States’ Marines, asking for people’s support only to be interrupted by some random woman on her phone live-streaming on social media. She jokes that they’re not even on a real base, saying there’s no way Homelander is eating M.R.E.s (Meal Ready to Eat). Homelander and Maeve approach her and ask what’s going on and that’s when she drops the bomb: Her name is Stormfront and she’s the newest member of The Seven. Homelander asks who approved this and she says that Mr. Edgar did. Homelander sarcastically approves, knowing that if the CEO approves this then there’s nothing he can do about it.

Stormfront certainly made an impression. Fans of the comic can already see she’s nothing like the comic book version and that’s beyond the change in gender. Stormfront in the comics is an ultra-serious jerk. This one seems to be more sarcastic.

She also seems to have a grasp on how to keep her fans entertained. This is probably why she’s on the team. Being attuned to how people are getting information is key to any company’s success. One thing is for sure, she’s going to have an altercation with Homelander. Stormfront may go too far and they may have to fight.
