WandaVision is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated TV shows of the year. One of many Disney+ shows based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has fans immensely excited.

Set in the MCU, it follows Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they live out a married life nobody was aware they had – not even themselves.

Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about WandaVision season 1, its premiere on Disney+, its cast, any trailers and more.

WandaVision premiere date

WandaVision will premiere on January 15, 2021. It was initially expected to arrive on Disney Plus sometime in December 2020 but unfortunately we’ll have to wait a little longer. It has now been confirmed that the series will be nine episodes.

There was some uncertainty as to whether it would be delayed due to what is happening in the world right now, but it has now been confirmed that the show will hit the streamer at the beginning of next year.

WandaVision cast

WandaVision is headlined by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany – both of whom reprise their roles from the Marvel Cinematic Universe installments as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision.

It also features Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings who reprises her role from Thor and Thor: The Dark World as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park who reprises his role from Ant-Man and The Wasp as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo and Kathryn Hahn as nosy neighbor Agnes.

WandaVision trailer

After much anticipation – and doubt as to whether or not it would be released this year at all – Disney+ released the first trailer for the limited series at the Emmy Awards.

What is WandaVision about?

One of the most alluring things about WandaVision is the fact that much of it remains a mystery. There haven’t been a massive amount of details released in terms of the show’s plot but the trailer did shed some light on what fans can expect from it.

Set after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the show follows Wanda Maximoff as she and Vision move to a small suburban town after they get married. However, as fans of the MCU will know, Vision died in Infinity War, leaving us uncertain as to how he’s even alive in the series.

As the pair begin to suspect that all is not what it seems, a web of mystery and intrigue will unfold for us in what is bound of be six episodes of domestic bliss.

Check out the official synopsis:

"Marvel Studios’ WandaVision blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems."
