6. The Phoenix created the first Avengers

Comic book: Avengers No. 39

Throughout Jason Aaron’s run of the Avengers, we’ve learned a lot about the original team. They were created back in one million B.C. Odin, Agamoto, the Black Panther, the Iron Fist, Star Brand, Ghost Rider, and the Phoenix – they’re the reason that the Celestials didn’t destroy Earth. In fact, they indirectly created mutants. Of all the beings there, you’d think it was Odin who put this group together. In actuality, it was the Phoenix who went to Odin. That was what got the ball rolling on the first group of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Why is this important?

During this issue, it looks like the Phoenix was one of the first mutants in the world (which were originally called deviants). The funny thing is if this information comes out, the Avengers will become more hated than they currently are. Mutant and human relations are at an all-time low. People of America are already shunning the Avengers and the world leaders hate Krakoa. Revealing this information would make things worse for them. If this gets out, the governments of the world will push harder for Phil Coulson’s Squadron Supreme to protect the world. Since Coulson is in with Mephisto, this would be awful.

If Jason Aaron brought this up, trust this writer, it definitely happened for a reason.
