100 greatest comic book characters of all-time
By Mark Lynch
Greatest comic book characters – 80. Deathstroke
First comic book appearance: The New Teen Titans No. 2
Deathstroke the Terminator is one of the five best fighters in all of the comic books. So much so that even the Justice League fears him. He once took them all on by himself and almost won. This team had Hawkman, Flash, Green Arrow, and Black Canary.
Despite being a deadly assassin, Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) sometimes has a heart. Not enough to say that he’s a hero or an antihero. Slade is just a man with morals. You give him a mission and do right by him, he’ll make certain he gets the job done. If he doesn’t, he won’t give away his source. Betray him, and he’ll come after you full force.
Greatest comic book characters – 79. Eddie Brock
First comic book appearance: Web of Spider-Man No. 18
Everyone loves Venom. However, not all Venoms are created equal. Some of them are bottom of the barrel. Eddie Brock is the best. In fact, he’s now the symbiote’s king. After defeating Knull (King in Black), Eddie Brock became the new King in Black, ruler of the Klyntar (the symbiotes).
Eddie is what made Venom popular. He was brutal and constantly saying he was going to eat people made him fierce. Granted, Eddie’s Venom didn’t eat many people. But you always knew he would if he could. Without Eddie, no one would care about Venom. He’s the best to wear the Symbiote suit.
