Greatest comic book characters – 12. Captain America

First comic book appearance:

Steve Rogers is the noblest of heroes. The one that everyone looks up to and admires. Sometimes it can get in the way of what’s going on. There have been multiple occasions where he doesn’t understand why things are happening. The good thing is that he always learns and adapts.

In the recent Captain America series (written by Ta-Nehisi Coates), Cap is learning how easy it is for people to see the bad in everyone. Even with him. Instead of giving up, he learned a lesson about how things aren’t always black and white. Even with criminals. That’s the beauty of Steve Rogers. He remains old fashion with some things but continues to be open about how things can change.

Greatest comic book characters – 11. Magneto

First comic book appearance: The X-Men No. 1

Magneto has never been the typical villain. For him, it’s about power and supremacy. He truly believed that mutants should be the ones that rule the world. As time went on, that way of thinking changed. He went on to acquire Genosha and make that a land for mutants to live in peace. After that was ruined, you’d assume he’d go back to being a villain. Instead, he remained more peaceful than he once was.

No matter how far he’s come, Magneto will always be dangerous. People have tried to remove metal from the fight and he still finds a way to overcome the odds.
