Greatest comic book characters – 8. Storm

First comic book appearance:  Giant-Size X-Men No. 1

Ororo Munroe doesn’t need the title to be the leader of the X-Men. People follow her into battle and listen to her more than Cyclops. As much as this writer loves him, a lot of people have died and been tortured under his watch. Not with Storm. She won’t leave anyone behind. If anything, she’ll stay while everyone else evacuates the area.

Storm doesn’t even need her powers to be in charge. There was a time when she had her powers taken for her. After training, she challenged Cyclops to be leader of the X-Men and won. She still had her team’s trust. Mostly because she has a track record of protecting her family no matter what.

Greatest comic book characters – 7. Batman

First comic book appearance: Detective Comics No. 27

Bruce Wayne is everything that people make him out to be. Confident, top first-rate fighter and a strategic mind that anyone would be jealous of. Despite not having any powers, he scares everyone because he always seems to have an answer for everything. Although, he is realistic. He knows that some fights are just unwinnable. Knowing that he can’t win a battle, Batman still won’t quit a fight.

An undervalued part of Bruce Wayne is his ability to care. He seems like a stoic individual until you seem around his family. He has a huge and forgiving heart. It’s why people like Harley Quinn and Jason Todd always get more chances with him. Regardless of how many times people fail him, he somehow still sees the good in people.
