Greatest comic book characters – 94. Ultron

First comic book appearance: Avengers No. 54

Ultron is one of the few villains who’ve actually completed their goal. He ruled the world. If it wasn’t for time-traveling shenanigans, he would have been the supreme ruler of a world full of artificial intelligence. Even if he didn’t, Ultron is one of the Avengers’ biggest threats. He always finds a way to adapt. Making it impossible to be beaten the same way twice.

Ultron and Hank Pym are currently one being. A weird concept, but it makes sense. At some point, they would be the same creature. Ultron has an obsession with him that’s borderline creepy. Well, it may have gone past borderline now.

Greatest comic book characters – 93. Red Skull

First comic book appearance: Captain America No. 7

Red Skull is another villain that managed to defeat his nemesis. Proper planning and patience is how he won this battle and his others. Even death doesn’t stop Johann Schmidt. He’s come back from the grave more than a couple of times. He’s had a cloned body and once trapped himself in the mind of someone else.

One of his best plans was taking the brain of Professor Xavier and using its power for himself. He was undetectable for months. Red Skull’s use of Xavier’s telepathy was masterful. The heroes are lucky he underestimated Deadpool. Otherwise, he would have won.
