Best comic book movie moments: 68. Shortest fight ever
Comic book movie: Captain Marvel
It was the end of Captain Marvel. Time for the final confrontation between Captain Marvel and Yon-Rogg. The last fight in an action flick tends to be the biggest, brightest and best of the movie. All of those words accurately describe this. Although, two other words are missing. It was also the funniest and the shortest.
Yon-Rogg really thought that he could manipulate Carol into a hand-to-hand fight. Why? She had nothing to gain from it. Plus, as she said, I have nothing to prove to you.” Carol was 100% right. Yon-Rogg getting blasted a hundred yards away was one of the more satisfying defeats in any movie.
Best comic book movie moments: 67. Mystique vs Wolverine
Comic book movie: X-Men
Going in, people may have thought that Mystique had no chance of beating Wolverine. They found out how wrong they were. Mystique truly challenged Logan. She used her agility, speed, and slick moves to give Wolverine a run for his money. In the end, her hubris cost her the fight and almost her life. Wolverine could smell that Mystique wasn’t Storm. Wolverine calming down and waiting for her to make a mistake was smart as well. He realized that he wasn’t going to win a straight-up fight with her.
This may have been the best moment in X-Men. Wolverine and Mystique went at it. For a movie in the early 2000s, this fight still holds up. Also, we should mention that Rebecca Romijn was masterful as Mystique. She doesn’t get enough recognition for her part in this franchise or comic book movies in general.
