Now that Black Widow has finally been released, here are five questions fans fans need to know.
After what seems like forever, Black Widow has finally been released. This writer half expected another delay due to some other shenanigans but thankfully, he was wrong. The movie performed incredibly well over its opening weekend, bringing in $39 million domestically on the Friday alone.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe movie ended with a lot of questions that need to be answered. More than a few of them involved the future of the Black Widow mantle. For example, what will happen to the Black Widow name? In Marvel Comics, Yelena is going by White Widow. However, in the past, she’s been called Black Widow.
But that’s just one of the many. Here are five questions that we absolutely need answers to.
***WARNING!!!!! THERE BE SPOLIERS AHEAD***

5. Will Black Widow return?
Natasha Romanoff sacrificed her life in Avengers: Endgame to get Clint Barton the Soul Stone. A moment that left people stunned and saddened, her selfless sacrifice made it seem unlikely that she will return. That is, unless you’re a comic book fan. If you are, you know that death is usually temporary. But will the MCU reflect that comic book trope?
There are a few ways to bring Black Widow back. There are also some ideas that seem wacky to us, but make sense in relation to the silliness we’ve seen in comics. Regardless of how it happens, though, we need to know if it will happen.
It would be nice to see her return. Given the character’s popularity and the success of the movie, don’t be shocked if it happens sooner rather than later.

4. What was Yelena doing?
We didn’t see Yelena Belova in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until Black Widow. But what happened during that movie and Avengers: Endgame? The post-credit scene revealed that she remained active despite not being seen. It turns out that she was working with Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus). What we don’t know is what she was up to.
This is the second person Valentina has recruited on-screen. It seems like she’s grabbing people who are okay with doing dirty work. What dirty deeds has Yelena done for Valentina? How did the two of them come across each other? Has Yelena finished giving the women of the Red Room free will? We need a project showing Yelena’s actions after Black Widow.
3. Are the Thunderbolts coming?
Another thing the ending of Black Widow hinted towards was the arrival of a new superpowered team. The Thunderbolts could be on their way.
In the comics, the Thunderbolts are a group of former villains who are working as heroes. Sometimes they’re forced to do good and other times they choose to do so in order to atone for their past sins. Both of those reasons work well for Yelena. She didn’t like being used by the Red Room, so because of the awful deeds she was forced to commit, she could see the Thunderbolts as a way for her to do some good. Or, maybe Valentina has dirt on Yelena and forces her to do jobs for her.
Either way, we need to see what she has been up to and which team she is working for.

2. Will Alexei fight Captain America?
Alexei spent time in prison talking about his time as a Russian superhero. While there, he talked about a fight he had with Captain America. Another prisoner called him out because while Steve Rogers was thawed out, Alexei was in prison.
Alexei wants his glorious fight with Captain America. He wanted it to be with Steve Rogers, but Endgame has now made that impossible. So could we see him square off with Sam Wilson? Alexei can underestimate Sam if he wants, but that will end with Sam Wilson standing over him victorious. If it does happen, though, the best part of this fight will undoubtedly be the banter between the two, especially if Bucky gets involved.
And what about Bucky? Alexei may have worked with Bucky during his Winter Soldier days. Or maybe he helped put him in jail. If either of these are the case, the two will fight.
1. What is Taskmaster’s next move?
Taskmaster didn’t have the personality that the character does in the comics. In Black Widow, she was silent, dark, and dangerous – all of which added to the tone of the movie. With her survival – and the fact that she now has control of her life – what will she do next and where will we see her?
Taskmaster could be another character that ends up working with Valentina. The Contessa looks like the kind of person who preys on the weakness of others. With Taskmaster being new to the world, it may be easy to manipulate her with promises of a purpose in life.
Hopefully, she’ll reappear in a future Deadpool project and bring their storied comic book rivalry to the MCU.
