The first two episodes of Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye left fans wanting answers to these five questions.

Hawkeye will be the show that ends the first year of Disney Plus‘ Marvel Cinematic Universe shows. Like the previous programs, it proved to be a very different kind of series.

One thing this show did was immediately pay homage to the comics. Little things like the random dog in Kate and Clint’s life, the Tracksuit Mafia, and even the opening credits looked like art from the Hawkeye comic series. As a fan of Matt Fraction’s classic run, this was great to see.

Both episodes were incredible, fun, and did a fantastic job of introducing Kate Bishop to the world. After they were over, they undoubtedly left viewers with questions about what will happen in episode three. Here are five of those queries we need answered.

5. Who killed Armand III?

This was the first big question that everyone wanted answered. Who killed (as Kate Bishop said it) Kate’s mom’s finance’s uncle? The easiest answer is Jack Duquesne. One, he’s very creepy. Two, he has issues with Armand. Third, he’s a Marvel Comics character named Swordsman. And, seeing how Armand III died most likely by a sword, it was him.

However, that seems too easy. A quick Google search would show you who Jack is. Nevertheless, with the MCU, it could be the easy answer or the complicated one.

4. Will we see more nods to the Hawkeye comic?

As it was mentioned earlier, there are a lot of nods to Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye. It’s only been a couple of episodes and we’ve seen a good amount of callbacks. If this is an indication of what’s to come, we’ll definitely see more.

There are great moments in the comics, like Hawkeye saying, “Today sucks. I’m going back to bed”, dodging bullets while naked, and the boomerang arrow conversation. Hopefully, things like this will make their way into Hawkeye. There’s only 22 issues in the series, but they’re full of fun and deep scenes that made the comic book series special.

3. Can this get goofier?

The things we’ve seen in Hawkeye have already been beyond silly. The Tracksuit Mafia was bad enough. Seriously, it’s a bunch of guys committing crimes in bright red activewear. The interactions between Kate and Clint have been funny, but Kate is entertaining all on her own. Watching her fall through a window when she was trying to save Clint was hilarious. There’s also the comments under her breath. They’re perfectly placed.

And then there’s Clint during his “interrogation.” With a straight face, he asked if he could speak to the Tracksuit Mafia’s manager. To top it all off, they end up tied to a kid’s ride you see outside of a supermarket. That was the cherry on top.

So, I guess what I’m asking is: Which goofy moments are next?

2. What’s up with Echo?

Right before episode 2 concludes, Maya Lopez (Echo) makes her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. One of the Tracksuit Mafia goons tells her that they have both Kate Bishop and Clint Barton. She then shoos him away with her hand and turns around.

From the looks of it, Echo is a crime boss. If you’re a fan of Maya Lopez, you aren’t shocked. In the comics, her father worked for Wilson Fisk.

After Clint’s family blipped out of existence in the MCU, he became Ronin and killed criminals. Echo’s dad may have been among the people he slayed. She probably took his place in charge of his empire. Since Echo doesn’t know who Ronin is, it only makes sense that she’d be looking for Kate Bishop. She was, after all, the one wearing the costume.

1. Will Yelena show up?

At the end of Black Widow, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine showed up while Yelena Belova was grieving at Natasha Romanoff’s grave. Valentina told Yelena that Clint was responsible for her sister’s death.

We know she’s going to appear in Hawkeye at some point, but will it be the next episode?

It makes sense that Yelena wouldn’t appear in the first couple of episodes. There was too much going on. Now that most of the introductions are out of the way, it would make sense for her to appear at the end of episode 3. Especially with this only being a six episode series.

Hawkeye episode 3 streams exclusively on Disney+ next Wednesday, December 1, at 12:01 a.m. PT and 3:01 a.m. ET.
