Doctor Strange 2: Benedict Cumberbatch stuns in jaw-dropping first look image

The first official image of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness features a look at Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme among others.

Benedict Cumberbatch is bringing his Sorcerer Supreme back to screens in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, when Stephen Strange accidentally helps Peter Parker crack open the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s multiverse. But that won’t be the only confirmed appearance of the all-powerful Avenger, as Cumberbatch will reprise the role in next year’s intriguing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The title of that movie certainly implies that there will be lasting repercussions to Strange’s actions in Spider-Man: No Way Home and that he will still be cleaning up that mess in his own solo sequel. We also know that he will cross paths with Wanda Maximoff in that movie as the Scarlet Witch will still be busy atoning for her own universe-shattering actions in WandaVision.

In spite of all that, we still don’t know an awful lot about the plot of the movie (tough there are rumors that Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda will actually be the villain of the piece). The reason being that no promotional material had been unveiled.

Well, that has all changed now, as the first official artwork from the movie has surfaced and it comes from the form of merchandise artwork.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness merchandise reveals first official artwork for the Benedict Cumberbatch movie

New promotional artwork from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness surfaced online recently and it has quickly made its way around the internet, with fans excited as it’s the first official look at the movie.

Of course, it’s not a lot to go on, but the artwork does feature our first look at Benedict Cumberbatch’s return to the role in the sequel, as he is out front and center of the poster-like artwork, utilising his mystical powers while Wong (Benedict Wong) and America Chavez/Miss America (which is our first look at Xochitl Gomez in the role) support him from behind.

What’s interesting about this image is that the Scarlet Witch is ominously looming over all three of them. Does this suggest that she could indeed be the antagonist of the movie?

If you’d like a clearer look at the image, digital artist marveldsign has used it as the basis for a stunning fan poster and it can be viewed here.
