Marvel: How these new and upcoming Disney Plus shows can succeed

Spider-Man: Freshman Year
Something new
Spider-Man movies in the MCU did something that made fans happy: They skipped his origin. We know about the spider bite, Uncle Ben getting shot, and the “With great power comes great responsibility” conversation. Since it wasn’t necessary, why show it? Looks like this was a plan from the beginning. And a genius one at that. Spider-Man: Freshman Year, the new upcoming animated series, will be about Peter before his time in the MCU.
The problem here is producing something that hasn’t been seen before. Spider-Man cartoons aren’t new. They’ve been around since the 1960s. Peter getting his powers and dealing with all of his tragedies that shape him have been done before. They have also been done recently. The Ultimate Spider-Man (2008-2012) and The Spectacular Spider-Man (2012-2017) are examples of this. This makes it difficult to produce something fresh. Even with this being part of the MCU.
In order to ensure fans are given something fresh, the team in charge will have to be creative with things that have already been seen more than a few times.
The good thing is everyone loves Spider-Man. Nevertheless, something more unique would be nice.
