6 Marvel Comics to help explain Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
By Mark Lynch
In conclusion…
All of these stories would make amazing movies and TV shows. This writer mentions shows as well because there’s a lot of material. Everything that’s happened in the MCU since WandaVision could be leading to Avengers Disassembled, House of M, and Secret Wars. The best part is no one but Marvel Studios knows the order they’ll appear (if they’ll even appear at all). Hopefully all of these stories are adapted on-screen.
Each of these stories could add something to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hickman’s Fantastic Four and New Avengers shows the difficult decisions that heroes have to make. It isn’t just punching villains and destroying giant robots. Sometimes the resolution is living with something that stains your soul forever. Doctor Strange doesn’t have enough of a soul to wager anything. T’Challa hasn’t been the same since the incursions. And Beast, well, he’s always been a menace. But this is where the lines became blurred for him.
More importantly, these stories could lead to more of what fans want to see. Scarlet Witch’s powers being displayed bigger and stronger, the X-Men joining the MCU, and Doctor Doom making his debut. There’s no loss in this situation. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will give the people what they want. Since they’ve rarely let their fans down, it could happen sooner than we think.
