Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are set to reprise their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series Echo.

In what may just be the most exciting Marvel news of the week (and considering this is the same week Thor: Love and Thunder came out, that’s saying a lot), Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are set to reprise their respective roles as Matt Murdock and Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk in an upcoming Marvel series.

Revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, the pair are set to appear in Disney Plus series Echo. A spin-off of Hawkeye, the show is currently filming in Atlanta and it will see Alaqua Cox return as Maya Lopez, the spin-off’s titular character.

Cox and D’Onofrio initially played the roles of Murdock and Fisk in the critically-acclaimed Netflix series Daredevil between 2015 and 2018. The show’s untimely cancellation in 2019 sparked outrage, but it has ultimately cleared the paths for those characters to join Marvel Studios’ Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Will Daredevil and Kingpin cross paths in Echo?

Whether or not the versions of the archenemies we meet in Echo will be the same versions from the Netflix series is still up in the air (as it remains unclear if the Netflix Marvel shows were canon or not), but this will mark the second recent MCU appearances for both actors, as Cox made a brief cameo as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while D’Onofrio’s Kingpin was the Big Bad of Disney Plus’ Hawkeye.

Their returns in Echo suggests that they could come face-to-face in the MCU for the first time, a moment that would undoubtedly confirm if their Netflix history is canon or not. And it could just be the beginning for their new chapter, as it was confirmed a number of weeks ago that a Daredevil series is indeed in development for Disney Plus.

It’s a good time to be a fan of these characters, that’s for sure.
