Can you imagine former Arrow star Stephen Amell playing another DC character, this time as a villain in Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe?

We have no idea what’s happening in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe. With the cuts and cancellations fans are anxious to know who will show up the DCU. One actor who would sign up is Arrow‘s former Green Arrow, Stephen Amell. The Heels star has expressed his desire to play a Batman villain that has not been portrayed on screen before.

This opens up a wide range of possibilities for the former Arrow actor, who has proven his ability to tackle complex and challenging roles, which is important for any actor who is interested in portraying a Batman villain. Amell has also demonstrated his physicality and athleticism in his previous roles, which could be useful in a role that requires action and fight scenes.

Amell has a strong fan base and is well-respected in the industry, which could make him a good choice for a high-profile role in the DC Universe. There are a few Batman villains that Stephen Amell could potentially bring to life on screen, and his desire to play a character that has not been portrayed before adds an extra layer of excitement and possibility to the role. Amell’s talent and range as an actor make him a strong choice to portray any of these complex and challenging characters.

3. Sportsmaster

While he is technically not a Batman villain, Sportsmaster could also be an interesting role for Stephen Amell to tackle. Sportsmaster is a highly skilled athlete who uses his natural athleticism for criminal purposes and is known for his sports-themed weapons of destruction. This character would allow Amell to showcase his physical abilities and portray a villain with a unique and distinctive personality. Sportsmaster is a lesser-known villain in the DC Comics universe, but he has the potential to fit seamlessly into Matt Reeves’ Batman universe.

Sportsmaster, whose real name is Lawrence “Crusher” Crock, is a former athlete who uses his skills and knowledge of sports to commit crimes. He is a former Olympian turned criminal mastermind who uses his exceptional athletic skills to take on superheroes. He is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and weapons expert and often depicted as a rival to Green Arrow, but he has also clashed with Batman on several occasions.

How he could fit in The Batman

In Reeves’ Batman universe, Sportsmaster could potentially be introduced as a new threat for the Caped Crusader to face. His exceptional physical abilities and strategic mind would make him a formidable opponent for Batman, and his tendency to use sports-themed gadgets and weapons would add a unique twist to their battles.

Fans have yet to see a live-action Sportsmaster in the DCEU or on the big screen (he was portrayed by Neil Hopkins on DC’s Stargirl). He could be a fresh and exciting addition to the Batman universe, providing new challenges and complexities for both Batman and the audience.

It would be interesting to see how Reeves would incorporate Sportsmaster into his Batman universe, and how the villain’s backstory and motivations are explored.

2. Hush / Thomas Elliot

Before taking the face of Bruce Wayne, causing Pattinson to play two characters, Amell could play the childhood friend of Bruce Wayne, Thomas Elliot. Batman fans will tell you about the criminal mastermind who resented the fact that Bruce’s father thwarted his plot to murder his parents. Thomas Elliot is a renowned surgeon and a meticulous planner, and his identity as Hush would allow Amell to showcase his range as an actor and portray a character with a deep-seated grudge against Batman.

As fans eagerly await the release of Matt Reeves’ next highly anticipated Batman film, speculation has been swirling about which characters who might make an appearance in the sequel. One name that has consistently been brought up is Hush, a villain who was first introduced in the Batman comic books in 2002.

Before becoming Hush, Dr. Thomas Elliot was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne’s who became jealous of Wayne’s wealth and status. He ultimately became a skilled surgeon and masterminded a plan to kill his own parents in order to inherit their fortune. However, his plan was foiled by Batman, and an enemy was born.

How he could fit in The Batman

Hush’s intelligence and cunning make him a formidable opponent for Batman, and his personal connection to Wayne adds a layer of complexity to their interactions. He could be used to explore the theme of jealousy and envy in the film. Given that Hush is driven by his desire for wealth and status, he could serve as a commentary on the corrupting influence of power and money. This could also tie into the film’s overall themes of morality and justice, as Hush’s actions are driven by his own selfish desires.

Hush could also be used to explore the themes of redemption and forgiveness, as his personal connection to Wayne could potentially lead to a confrontation between the two characters. Alternatively, Hush could be used as a way to delve deeper into Batman’s own psyche, as the Dark Knight grapples with the complex emotions that come with facing off against an old friend turned enemy.

Hush has the potential to be a compelling and complex villain in Matt Reeves’ Batman universe. Whether he serves as a foil for the Dark Knight or as a way to explore deeper themes and ideas, Hush could bring a unique and interesting dynamic to the film.

1. Talon – Calvin Rose

Another possibility for Stephen Amell could be the role of Talon, the only Talon to ever escape the grasp of the Court of Owls. Calvin Rose is a skilled escape artist and trained assassin, who was resurrected by the Owls after being killed by Bane. This character would allow Amell to showcase his physical capabilities, as well as his ability to portray a character with a troubled past and a conflicted sense of loyalty.

The Court of Owls, a secret society that has played a significant role in the history of Gotham City, are longing for a movie adaptation and Talon’s introduction could allow for it to happen. Recently, the character has gained renewed attention due to the announcement that Matt Reeves, the director of the upcoming film The Batman, has included the Court of Owls as a key part of his interpretation of the Batman mythos.

Comic book fans understand the important role the Court of Owls has traditionally played in Gotham City. The Court is a shadowy organization that has been pulling the strings behind the scenes for centuries, manipulating events in the city to further their own mysterious goals. The Court is made up of wealthy and powerful members of Gotham society, known for using their wealth and influence to control politicians, law enforcement, and other key players in the city.

One of the primary instruments of the Court’s power is the Talon, a deadly assassin who is trained from birth to serve the Court’s needs. Calvin Rose was one such Talon, and he played a significant role in the Court’s efforts to maintain control over Gotham. However, Rose’s loyalties were tested when he encountered Batman, who was determined to bring down the Court and expose their activities to the public.

How he could fit in Matt Reeves’ The Batman

So, how could Calvin Rose and the Court of Owls fit into the world of Matt Reeves’ Batman? It’s worth noting that Reeves’ film is a noir-inspired detective story, with Robert Pattinson’s Batman working to solve a series of grisly murders in Gotham. Given the Court of Owls’ history of manipulating events and controlling key players in the city, it seems likely that they could play a significant role in the film’s plot.

It’s also worth noting that the Court of Owls has traditionally been depicted as a force of evil in the Batman mythos, with their ruthless pursuit of power and control often putting them at odds with Batman and other heroes. Given Reeves’ focus on the psychological aspects of the Batman story, it seems likely that the Court of Owls could serve as an interesting foil for Batman, presenting him with a complex and sinister adversary that he must confront and defeat.

Calvin Rose and the Court of Owls could be a valuable addition to the world of Matt Reeves’ Batman. By bringing in elements of mystery, noir, and psychological drama, the Court could provide a unique and compelling challenge for Batman, and help to further deepen and enrich the world of the film. And this is something Stephen Amell would have no problem bringing to life through a portrayal of Talon.
