By Bryce Olin
2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered in theaters in 2014, and it’s the second Captain America movie. It’s also the third MCU movie featuring Scarlet Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier features one of the biggest and best storylines with Black Widow in MCU history. The plot of Captain America: The Winter Soldier revolves around HYDRA’s infiltration of SHIELD. Because of Black Widow’s experience as a spy and assassin, she uses her instincts to figure out what’s going on in the organization and reports her findings back to Steve Rogers/Captain America. Together, they work to stop HYDRA from taking out Avengers and SHIELD agents around the world. The film also introduces one of the best villains we’ve seen in the MCU so far, the Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is one of the best MCU movies we’ve seen so far. It’s easily the best Captain America movie, which is high praise considering how important and epic Captain America: Civil War was. It also features one of Johansson’s best performances in the MCU so far, as well.
Up next is Johansson’s second-to-last Marvel movie, Avengers: Endgame.
