2. The Flash

  • Release Date: June 16, 2023
  • Director: Andy Muschietti
  • Cast: Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton

The Flash is easily one of the most highly anticipated new movies coming in the summer of 2023. It’s been so long since this movie was announced and delayed so many times because of COVID-19 pandemic. It’s also been mired in controversy over the last few years due to Ezra Miller’s behavior and criminal record.

The film tells the story of Barry Allen (Miller) as he, once again, goes back in time to save his mother. Unfortunately, he finds himself trapped in a new world, and he needs the help of Batman (Michael Keaton) and others to make things right.

Everything about the actual film that’s been revealed so far has seemed really promising, and that’s obviously why excitement is at an all-time high for the new DC movie.

It will be really interesting to see what happens with the DCEU from here with James Gunn and Peter Safran steering DC in a new direction. The Flash was greenlit and filmed under the old regime, but if it’s successful, DC and co. could run it back in a sequel.
