12. Supergirl: Season 4, Episode 22: The Quest For Peace

When Jon Cryer came onto the scene, we didn’t know what to expect. Well, we knew what Lex was about, but what Cryer did with his unique take was nothing short of fantastic. He took things a step further with his role in The Quest for Peace, putting that on full display.

This guy was an absolute menace who used Red Daughter as a weapon of destruction. The reason why this doesn’t make the Top 10 is that we’ve seen something similar with Maxwell Lord in season one. Still, there’s nothing like having Lex as a big bad controlling a Kryptonian. His ability to balance sinister and charm in a way that is both unique and familiar.

The Quest for Peace was the cultivation of Lex’s manipulation. He had been using Red Daughter, Kara’s Kryptonian clone, as a pawn in his schemes. He exploited Red Daughter’s loyalty to her “sister” Kara and manipulated her into believing that Kara was the enemy.

Kara, seeing the good in everyone, empathized with Red Daughter’s struggles and attempted to reach out to her, hoping to find a way to break through Lex’s influence. Of course, it worked. In tragic, yet heroic fashion, the inevitable happened: Red Daughter sided with good and sacrificed herself to save the world.
