2. Jubilee

The casting of Jubilee was absolutely spot on with Lana Condor, but after that, she was nothing. It’s insane, considering how important she was in the comics. In the pages of X-Men comics, Jubilation “Jubilee” Lee sparkled as a character who lit up the pages.

Her mutant ability to create and control pyrotechnic energy plasmoids set her apart. But Fox’s movie adaptations barely ignited this spark. While Lana Condor’s casting hit the bullseye, the treatment of Jubilee left fans fuming.

And for those of us who grew up with the 90s cartoons, we knew her as the beacon to Wolverine. Like the comic, she was his little sister-like character. She was someone who brought out his humanity. What’s sad is what happened in Fox’s cinematic universe. Jubilee found herself relegated to the shadows, with no connection to Wolverine at all. Hey, at least she did have two appearances. Well, they were blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scenes in X-2. Another was in an arcade.

Jubilee deserved a better storyline, one that mirrored the comics. Imagine if Jubilee was part of the connection with Wolverine. It was a missed opportunity that still annoys fans. Fox figured the comics didn’t matter.
