Spider-Man: All 6 Peter Parker actors ranked from worst to best
1. Andrew Garfield
They say distance makes the heart grow fonder and that’s certainly what we have seen happen with Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies. The truth is that The Amazing Spider-Man saga has never been as bad as some like to point out, and in the midst of all of its highs and lows was its greatest attribute: Andrew Garfield’s incredible performance as Peter Parker.
Peter is known for being nerdy and Garfield had that mastered from the very beginning of his first movie. But there was a charm to that nerdiness, a charisma if you will, that just came to him so naturally. His Peter radiated a quiet confidence that made him a much more well-rounded incarnation of the character, and that played into his romance with Gwen Stacy.
The chemistry between Garfield and Emma Stone was off-the-charts, and their adorably awkward interactions made this pairing Peter’s best on-screen romance. There just aren’t words to describe how amazing it was, and it worked so well because of the strength of the characters that Garfield and Stone had created with their performances.
Garfield’s Peter is goofy, he’s cheeky, he’s unsure of himself in so many ways, and he’s a total nerd. But he’s also confident, emotional, kind, and incredibly smart. He’s nuanced and well-rounded in a way that he shouldn’t have been given we saw less of him than the other Peters, and all of that is down to Garfield’s performance. He is, without question, the greatest live-action Peter Parker of them all.
