Spider-Man does the Shmoney dance

Now, being from the UK I have better things to be doing like drinking tea and worrying about the Scottish vote for independence to be keeping up with the latest wacky and bizarre trends from America. But even I couldn’t escape the physical whirlwind of a trend that’s taken America by storm at the moment – the Shmoney Dance.

After doing some research, I’m still not exactly sure what the Shmoney Dance is, but I’ve tracked down the source of the latest craze to this song and music video by Rowdy Rebbel ft. Bobby Shmurda

Yeah, it seems fairly inconspicuous right? Except it’s led to everyone in America doing it, celebrities like Rihanna and Megan Fox are doing it, Team USA’s Basketball team is doing it, this one guy is using it to propose to his girlfriend.  Heck, here’s a video of 75 plus people doing the Shmoney Dance. Basically it’s a big deal.

In fact it’s such a big deal that even our neighborhood friendly Spider-Man himself couldn’t resist throwing some Shmoney shapes and recreating the Shmoney Dance for a bunch of children whilst a bewildered Mickey Mouse watches on in equal parts terror and amusement. I’m really not making this up folks.
