10. Sara and Ava (DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow)

A trained assassin resurrected from the dead turned time-travelling superhero, Sara Lance is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with – a fact that she proves weekly as the captain of the Waverider on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. However, during the show’s third season, she and her team found themselves on the wrong end of the Time Bureau, who sought to arrest the Legends and bring an end to their time-travelling shenanigans.

Of course, the team of outcasts and misfits refused to go quietly, kick-starting an all-out multi-episode chase that ultimately led to Sara squaring off against the Bureau’s leader, Ava Sharpe. These formidable females may have adopted dramatically different approaches but, when it all came down to the basics, they matched each other in both verbal and physical combat. In that moment, Sara had truly met her match.

However, these enemies soon became allies and, after that, they eventually gave in to the growing chemistry between them, beginning what turned out to be a surprisingly loving relationship.

As the leaders of their respective teams, Sara and Ava are the personification of a true power couple and, together, they bring out the absolute best in each other. Despite their empowering and, quite frankly, intimidating public presences, they have no problem showing a new side to their own personalities through their affectionate relationship. Moreover, from Ava’s discovery that she is actually a clone to Sara’s continued struggles over Laurel’s death, these two have already hit quite a few emotional obstacles, but together, they have come out the other side.

Avalance rose during Season 3 of Legends, and it continues to reach new heights with each passing episode as Sara and Ava’s relationship has developed into one of the best currently on TV.
