Jack O’Connell as Wolverine
There’s nothing more to say about Wolverine. Hugh Jackman ended his run with an amazing performance in Logan. If there’s any X-Man that got enough attention, it was Wolverine.
Fox gave him the royal treatment. Jackman starred in three solo movies. And he was given the time traveling arc that belonged to Kitty in Days of Future Past. Still, he’s become the face of the X-Men, so he’ll have to get recast.
Unlike the times past, Wolverine shouldn’t be the focal point of the X-Men. He’s overwhelmingly popular, but it’s time to let some other members of the team shine.
For a long time, before Venom, any name that wasn’t Tom Hardy was going to get shot down. But this guy, Jack O’Connell, exudes all the qualities of a potential Wolverine.
For starters, he has the rugged look and a comic book accurate build. Even more important, his resume is filled with examples of his acting prowess. If you haven’t seen him act, then you’re missing out.
Skins was where he got his start but, since then, he’s been cranking out great performances, like a desperate man wronged by Wall Street in Money Monster or starring in a drama like The Man with the Iron Heart. His most critically acclaimed role came in 2013’s Starred Up.
Warner Bros. allegedly had their eyes on him for The Batman. Since that’s not happening, Disney can use him. All they have to do his lace him with adamantium, suit him up, and call him Logan.
