2. Can The Monitor Be Trusted?

Ever since The Monitor first showed up in Elseworlds last year, fans have been rather skeptical of his intentions. But alas, when a cosmic being tells you that the universe is about to fall apart while showing you just how powerful he is, you tend to believe him, right?

Well, this week’s episode of Arrow saw Oliver go through quite the emotional journey, and revisiting his past reminded him of how he had once placed “blind faith” in the wrong place and, as a result, he finally started asking the appropriate questions.

If The Monitor is so powerful, why does he need Oliver to take care of all these tasks? Why won’t he be more helpful when sending his recruits out on missions? And, most importantly of all, why would he resurrect Lex Luthor over on Supergirl?

Naturally, this has left us all wondering if he really is telling the truth about Crisis On Infinite Earths. And speaking of the Monitor…

1. Why is Lyla Working With The Monitor?

The episode’s closing moments were undoubtedly its most shocking, as they revealed that Lyla Michaels – as in A.R.G.U.S. Director and wife of John Diggle – was actually working with The Monitor.

Had this taken place before the episode began, then maybe we wouldn’t have been quite as shocked as Oliver and Diggle clearly trusted Mar Novu to do the right thing. However, now that they’re skeptical of his behavior, this makes Lyla’s actions all the more shady.

She’s got good intentions, no doubt, but how did The Monitor contact her, and why? We know she’s destined to become Harbinger in the Crisis and this feels like the natural first step, but when will we know more about this unexpected alliance.
