Matching 30 Marvel Cinematic Universe characters with each NBA team
By Mark Lynch
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets have an unforgettable playoff moment. In 1994, they became the first team in NBA history be the number eight seed and defeat the number one seed.
The Nuggets defeated a Seattle Supersonics team that was loaded with talent. Detlef Schrempf, Shawn Kemp, and Gary Payton fell to the Denver Nuggets three games to two. One image that will remain touching is Dikembe Mutombo holding the ball in the air while he’s laying on the ground. You could feel his emotion through the TV screen.
Ant-Man/Giant Man
Just like the Nuggets when they beat the Supersonics, Scott Lang was underestimated. Before Ant-Man was in theaters people thought his movie and character would be bad. After Paul Rudd was cast, people were confused. How could Paul Rudd be a superhero? Then the movie debuted.
It was a heartwarming and deep movie. Seeing Scott Lang come from prison, fight to see his daughter, and become a superhero is everything that makes someone a hero. Lang had to work hard to become an Avenger, but he did the work and gained their trust.
The current Denver Nuggets team are like Ant-Man as well. They aren’t as flashy and intimidating as the rest of the teams in the west. Underestimate them at your own peril. They have a boatload of talent and have the potential to upset any team in the league.
