17. Rowdy Roddy Piper

This is a personal favorite. Roddy Piper was the reason wrestling became a part of my life. He was a smack-talking guy who loved to push people’s buttons. Was he a heel or a face? Neither. He was simply “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.

His catchphrase, “Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions” is appropriate. You never knew what to expect from him except for a fight. He battled the greats like Ric Flair, Jimmy Snuka, and Bret Hart. He’s part of the reason WrestleMania became popular. WrestleMania 1 featured Piper and Paul Orndorff versus Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. Showing that the WWF was more than just wrestling. It’s entertainment.

Deadpool

An unpredictable wrestler deserves an unpredictable anti-hero. Wade Wilson and Roddy Piper are a match made in Heaven. Well, a weird Heaven complete with kilts, bagpipes, and Chimichangas.

Deadpool is just like Roddy Piper in a lot of ways. Both of them have been both hero and villain. They’ve annoyed their opponents and used that to win their bouts. And they know how to fight in any situation. If you’re a fan of Deadpool in the comics, you know this to be true. The biggest question is who wins in an argument between the two.
