6. Pena Duro North Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility

Episode: “There’s No Place to Go But Down

Hands down, the best name in the Harley Quinn series is The Pena Duro North Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility or, simply, The Pit. Of course Bane would name his prison something as asinine as he is.

What wasn’t foolish was that the Pit actually worked. He was making great strides in rehabilitating Gotham City’s super criminals. Killer Croc took up painting, Bane enforced a strict “make your bed when you’re done” policy and Zsasz wasn’t feeling as murderous. Who would have thought that Bane had the cure to making psychotic villains manageable? Certainly not this writer.

You have to love what they did with Bane. He was so great in the series that they gave him his own episode. Bane was sincerely trying to rehabilitate the villains of Gotham. Even in the end when Harley and Ivy were trying to escape, he acknowledged that they were recognizing their previous trauma and said that they should continue their treatment.

Granted, when they told him to take The Pit and shove it, he didn’t take it well. Can you blame them, though? It wasn’t like they were given a fair trial. Realistically, if Two-Face didn’t have to be there, why should they? And Man-bat as their lawyer? That’s cruel and unusual.
