The Swedes journey continues

It feels like there is still a lot that we have yet to know about The Swedes and what their overall stake in the plot of season 2 was. The Handler assumed they were sent by The Commission, but there is never a scene where anyone from The Commission so much as mention their presence in the ’60s.

Plus, The Commission’s role is usually to make sure those key apocalyptic moments remain intact, so wouldn’t them trying to kill Vanya put a snag in an apocalypse ever even happening? A lot of questions were raised with little answers. Perhaps those questions are meant to stay open until next season.

Besides, with one Swede alive and stuck on a cult leader’s shag bus in 1963, it’s hard not to believe there will be some repercussions that’ll affect the future in some way. Speaking of affecting the future …

Allison Reunites With An Older Raymond

Okay, this one’s more of a personal request. As someone who was a fan of both the Raymond Chestnut character and his relationship with Allison (especially since it’s a happy alternative to the sorta-incest she has with Luther), I’m going to miss seeing the chemistry between Emmy Raver-Lampman and Yusuf Gatewood blossom onscreen.

But just because Allison has left the ’60s doesn’t mean their story is over. Not completely yet. I wouldn’t mind if we got at least one more scene between these two. In a 2019 context – one where Allison finds herself visiting a much older version of Raymond. Think the scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier where Steve Rogers visits Peggy Carter on her death bed.

Is it gonna hurt like hell as an emotionally gut-wrenching scene? You betcha. But this writer would certainly love to see it.
