Remembering Chadwick Boseman’s best Marvel moments
T’Challa and Okoye rally Bucky
Moving over to Avengers: Infinity War, T’Challa doesn’t appear until about 56 minutes into the movie where Steve, Nat, Sam, Wanda, and Rhodey take Vision to Wakanda to have Shuri take the Mind Stone out of his head. The King of Wakanda is seen walking through a field with Okoye who tells him about the the Kingsguard.
T’Challa asks about the Border Tribe being involved in their upcoming fight. Okoye then says, “Those that are left” referencing the losses they sustained during their fight with Killmonger. They arrive at the encampment where Bucky is currently living after the princess helped clear his mind of his brainwashing.
Seeing Chadwick in this scene goes to show T’Challa no longer blames Barnes for the death of his father and is willing to rally him to their side. He portrays the character just as he did in Black Panther but the Black Panther is now more open to international relations where he was not before even with those he did not see as threats.
“Get this man a shield.”
T’Challa’s views on the outside world changed to the point he considered Steve a friend when he showed up with Nat, Wanda, Bruce, Rhodey, Vision, and Sam. Rogers jokes that he’s always asking for the king’s help with something. He is then met with a firm handshake.
After chatting with Natasha, they go to see Shuri who scans Vision in search of way of ridding him of the Infinity stone lodged in his forehead. Wakanda is then attacked by Thanos’ forces. Cap tells Wanda to blow the stone to hell before Black Panther orders that Captain America be given his shield.
What makes this moment so special is how Chadwick interacts with Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson. He looks at them with grace and sees them as equals to T’Challa as they are trying to save the world.
