4. “You came back to me”

We all looked forward to the reunion between Barry and Iris after that heartbreaking season 3 finale tore WestAllen apart. That reunion certainly didn’t disappoint.

With Iris attempting to remind a confused Barry of who he was after his time in the Speed Force, she put herself in harms way to force his hand. The plan worked as Barry found The Flash within and ventured out to save his fiancée, taking down the Samuroid with relative ease.

This made for an endearing reunion as Iris’ “You came back to me” was both a statement and a question, testing the waters to see if her husband-to-be really had returned. Barry responded with a warm smile and with an “Always”, he kissed her passionately in the field.

The sunset, their signature score, the performances; West-Allen perfection.

3. Iris tells Barry that she loves him

Much of the second season saw Iris attempt to figure out how she truly felt about Barry. She always considered him her best friend, but their relationship changed in the end of season 1 and that forced her to think about them in a different way. And, as she came to realize over the course of the season, that different way was love.

The moment in which she admitted how she felt was undeniably powerful because she knew that Barry wasn’t in a place where a relationship was possible but she wanted to ensure that he knew she’d be waiting for him when it was.

And with that, the two leaned forward in a beautiful moment and kissed each other for the first time (in this timeline) as we heard the West-Allen theme for the first time and the light from above shone down on them in a subtle reminder that destiny was finally coming to pass.
