Batman: Peace in Gotham

Comic Book: Batman

The last couple of months have been a train wreck for Gotham City – and that’s saying a lot considering where we’re talking about. The City of Bane and the Joker War has beat Gotham down even more than usual. In the middle of it all was Batman. At some point Bruce Wayne has to want peace. A life where he can live with Catwoman in peace and not have to worry about Joker, Riddler, or an alternate reality version of his father. People may think that Batman would be lost without crime, but that isn’t true anymore. Catwoman has shown him that there’s more to life. He even laughs and makes jokes now.

Peace and good will in Gotham is undoubtedly the gift the Caped Crusader deserves.

The mutants: To be left alone

Comic book: X-Men, New Mutants, X-Factor

Most of Earth’s mutants left the human world and moved to their own nation. Krakoa has become more than a home, it’s now considered a mutant paradise. A place where a lot of the human rules, creeds, and judgement no longer exists, ushering in a new life for the Children of the Atom.

No matter how hard they try to keep to themselves, people still attack them. So, for Christmas, the mutants of Krakoa probably want to be left alone. They have everything they want and then some. They’re falling in love, experimenting with their powers, and learning about a life without violence. If they could be left in peace, they’d be very grateful.
