WandaVision: All 10 major characters ranked
By Mark Lynch
3. Director Tyler Hayward
Tyler Hayward may have talked and walked like a good person, but the audience could see right through that. He was the epitome of a used car salesman minus the ugly plaid suit jacket. We were just waiting for him to show his true colors.
Even after seeing the video of Wanda stealing Vision’s body, we knew there had to be a reason for it. Eventually, we were proven right. It wasn’t Wanda taking Vision’s body, it was simply her saying goodbye to him. Hayward, however, manipulated those around him by selectively showing them only what he wanted them to see.
Is he a liar, deplorable human being, and someone that deserves every bad thing that’s going to happen to him? Absolutely. Does all of this make him a bad person? Definitely. Nevertheless, this doesn’t make him a bad character. The problem with Hayward is that we’re used to seeing relatable villains. Not this time. Hayward is a jerk plain and simple – something that few people will view as him doing the right thing.
The worst was what he did to Vision’s body in death. Vision didn’t want to be used as a weapon. Hayward told people this, but was secretly rebuilding the Avenger so he could control him. An atrocious human being, yes, but a good enemy for WandaVision.
