The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: 5 best moments from “Truth”
By Liam Clark
1. John Walker’s trial and Madame Hydra’s arrival
While the episode mainly focused on Sam and Bucky after their initial conflict, John Walker still has a role to play in the series. His trial proves that Walker is still deranged and believes himself to be Captain America, with the soldier even bringing up a number of thought-provoking points about how he only did what was asked of him.
The trial results in Walker being dishonourably discharged, and the man who was briefly Captain America having no idea what to do next. This leads to the debut of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), who presents Walker with an opportunity for the future.
While it is unclear what opportunity she is referring to, comic fans will know Valentina as Madame Hydra in the comics. This means that the deal this new character (who was originally meant to debut in Black Widow) is offering Walker is not for good purposes.
Granted, with the post-credits scene featuring Walker creating his own shield and the teases of a potential Thunderbolts team in the future, it seems that Walker is well on his way to earning the US Agent mantle he held throughout the comics.
