Best DC movies and shows on HBO Max: Static Shock

There was one hero that was absent from all of the DCEU films that have been made so far and was not on the roster when it came time to unite the Justice League leaving a lot of and disappointed. Static Shock is an Emmy award-winning animated series that ran for four glorious seasons and has been revered as a critically acclaimed must-watch endeavor by and fans of all ages.

The science fiction action comedy cartoon that aired in 2000 focused on Virgil Hawkins, an African-American boy who gets exposed to a mutagen gas during a gang brawl giving him electromagnetic powers. He becomes the superhero Static, who was first introduced in the comics in 1993’s Static #1 and fights crime in the name of justice.

An issue of Wizard listed the show Static Shock as one of the 100 best cartoons as selected by their readers, and the show has gained a superb following since it was canceled in 2004. The series won a slew of awards, and there is no denying the vocal performances are just incredible.

Static would make an ideal addition to the DCEU, and until that day comes, fans can enjoy all 52 episodes of Static Shock ready to stream on HBO Max.
