4. Peacekeeper 01 is born

Throughout the DC Comics Future State run, people wondered who Peacekeeper 01 was. A lot of us assumed it was a villain we’d heard of before. But after seeing most of them (and other members of the Batman lore too), we started to give up on who he was. It looks like there’s a reason for that. He wasn’t introduced yet.
In DC Comics Infinite Frontier, a Joker burned Arkham Asylum down and killed a lot of inmates and workers. One of the guards made it out alive. His name is Sean Mahoney and he’s going to be Peacekeeper 01.
Why is this important?
We never knew why there was a personal grudge between Peacekeeper 01 and Batman. Now we know why. Batman was partly responsible for him losing two of his limbs. On top of that, the Dark Knight was working with James Gordon who Sean believes has a grudge against his family. And these are all of the elements needed for him to be manipulated by Simon Saint.
At the end of the issue, we see Sean being worked on to complete his transformation. This is just one step closer to the future of DC Future State becoming a reality.
