Black Lightning season 4 finale trailer reveals that [SPOILER] is alive

Last, but certainly not least, we have the antagonists of this season: Tobias Whale and Chief Ana Lopez. Tobias is seen giving a speech about how the old ways of Freeland are gone, saying all of the catchy phrases that he knows the people want to hear so that he can continue to receive their support – all while knowing that he’s responsible for most of the carnage that has happened in their city. Of course, he’s saying it with his classic smile that hides a sinister plot.

Part of the damage that could happen to Freeland will be due to the meta-serum Tobias gave Chief Ana Lopez. We see in the trailer that she’s using powers to destroy things. She’s most likely trying to draw out Lightning for a fight. The irony is that she’s gone after metahumans because they inadvertently killed her family. Now, she’s being reckless with power. This will most likely conclude with her giving herself up to the authorities or leaving the city altogether.

All of this and we haven’t even discussed the possible return of Lala, Destiny, and who knows who else. This is the final episode of the series, after all. We may even get a Lady Eve sighting, right? And, what happens when Tobias finds out that it wasn’t Black Lightning who killed his sister? Will he care or will he realize his vendetta was all for nothing? This episode has all of the ingredients to be the very best of the series.

The Black Lightning series finale premieres on The CW on May 24, 2021.
