First comic book appearance: Uncanny X-Men No. 201 (as baby Nathan Summers), New Mutants No. 129 (as Cable)
Nathan Summers seems boring. He doesn’t make many jokes (unless he’s around Deadpool) and he’s not someone someone who has flashy powers. There are times where he doesn’t have access to his mutant abilities at all. Somehow he manages to still be one of the best leaders, fighters, and mentors. What also makes Cable special is his ability to do whatever needs to be done and do it perfectly.
Cable is very much like Nick Fury. The main difference is Cable knows how to play well with others. He’s not willing to sacrifice other people. He’s always going to find another way out. If not, Cable is the one who’s willing to jump on the grenade. Something he’s consistently done throughout his multiple lives.
Greatest comic book characters – 57. Wilson Fisk
First comic book appearance: The Amazing Spider-Man No. 50
Wilson Fisk is on the list of best criminals in comics. He doesn’t have the genius intellect of Lex Luthor or Doctor Doom. Nor can he lift cars over his head and shoot energy blasts out of his body. What Wilson Fisk has is the determination to be the best. Something that has proven to be more important at times.
Over the years, Fisk has done some unthinkable things like causing more pain to innocent people than some super-powered baddie. He’s defeated his nemesis (Daredevil) more than a few times and even sent him down paths of self destruction. The most impressive may be making himself Mayor of New York. Now, he’s not only connected illegally, but he has political backing as well. It’s going to be hard to dethrone him now.
