Greatest comic book characters – 52. Norman Osborn
First comic book appearance: Amazing Spider-Man No. 23(as Norman Osborn)
Norman Osborn may be more well known as the Green Goblin, but the Goblin isn’t as dangerous as Norman. Norman is a genius and a surprisingly good leader. If not for his crazy, the Dark Reign would have lasted a lot longer. Let’s look at some of Norman’s accomplishments.
He was smart enough to use his tech and not Tony Stark’s. This made it impossible for the Skrulls to corrupt Thunderbolt’s Mountain. He intercepted the information needed to kill the Skrull Queen and became head of the U.S.’s security. He even led a team of Avengers that were clearly insane. Despite their flaws, they were a good team that Norman held together. Sure, the Green Goblin is more popular, but Osborn is the scary one.
Greatest comic book characters – 51. Miles Morales
First comic book appearance: Ultimate Fallout No. 4
In just ten years, Miles Morales has starred in his own video game, classic movie, and a stellar comic book career. Some people don’t like that he’s Spider-Man. The conversation has been that he needs and deserves his own title. This writer wholeheartedly disagrees. Miles has taken the title and created something new.
The only thing Miles and Peter Parker have in common is their need to help others. However, they differ in that too. Miles spends a lot of time looking to help people in communities that need his help the most. He sees things differently because of how and where he’s raised. It gives him a different perspective on being a hero. In another decade or so, Miles will be number one on this list.
