Greatest comic book characters – 50. Lois Lane

First comic book appearance: Action Comics No. 1

Lois Lane used to be famous for being the reporter that Superman saved from danger and later married. Thankfully, her character has grown tremendously over the years. Lois always deserved to be someone who’s looked at as a world class reporter. A woman who constantly put herself in danger to get the story she was after. She’s become that and so much more.

Let’s focus on her integrity. Lois lived a life that could’ve been the greatest story ever told. She knew the identity of Superman before he told the world. She could have made more money than some kings if she published a book. Yet, she never told it. She knows who Batman is, where he’s from, and why he became the Dark Knight. Yet she sits on these possible articles because who she is. It’s great that she’s being depicted well in Superman & Lois.

Greatest comic book characters – 49. Jessica Drew

First comic book appearance: Marvel Spotlight No. 32

Jessica Drew is the first Spider-Woman. In this writer’s opinion, she’s the best. Jessica’s done more than any Spider-Woman before or after. She’s one of the best spies, a great Avenger, and came back after being the face of the Secret Invasion. When everyone shunned her, Jessica doubted her. Over time, she built herself back up and became better than ever. This isn’t something that everyone can do.

Jessica Drew is a solo hero, teams up with Captain Marvel and other heroes, all while being a mother. It’s hard enough doing one of the three. Jessica is balancing all of it and making it look easy. Add her to the list of characters that deserve an appearance in the MCU. Hopefully on a show.
