Death
Unfortunately, with this being a series finale, death is something that could happen to a major Black Lightning character. It would be easy to kill off someone like Lynn or Gambi because their deaths would affect the dynamic and undoubtedly drive Jefferson even more as he completes his mission as Black Lightning. However, it would be nice if the show didn’t go down that route.
There is no need for anyone to die in the Black Lightning finale. The Pierce family deserves a happy ending. The finale of season 1 is a perfect example as we got to see Jennifer, Anissa, and Jefferson jogging with smiles on their faces. That was probably the happiest they’ve been since the show started and we deserve to see them like this one more time. Let them go out being happy after all of their enemies are defeated.
A new Life
Anissa and Grace are married. There was no big wedding, but they’re together and happy. After they lost their powers, we saw that their opinions differ on how they feel about it. Anissa wants them back because she feels the need to help people as Blackbird and can’t do it without her abilities. Grace, on the other hand, is happy that they’re gone because she’s enjoying not being able to shape-shift.
The two of them are going to have a real conversation when their abilities return. It’s doubtful that Anissa will stop being Blackbird. That doesn’t mean that she has to defend Freeland the way her father does. She’s always going to defend those who can’t defend themselves. But Grace just wants a normal life. They’ll both understand the other and live happily ever after, especially when this happens…
