2. Who is the Variant?
The Variant causing all the trouble took off their hood. We know that this particular Loki is different from the one we’ve seen in the MCU and in the comics. Unfortunately, that’s all we know.
The way this episode ends leads this writer to believe that there is much more to learn. Does the blonde hair mean that they’re really Asgardian and not a Frost Giant? Could she be a hybrid of Thor and the God of Mischief? Is this just another body that they inhabited? If so, what does the original look like? There are an unlimited amount of options for who this Loki truly is. Hopefully, their origin will be revealed in the next episode.
1. Where did they go?
The Variant Loki turns out to look nothing like the MCU’s version. This wasn’t the most shocking of reveals. It was rumored since the show’s release and the emphasis on calling the Variant a “he” was rather telling. Nonetheless, this Loki is smart and powerful.
Even after knowing Loki and the TVA found them, they completed their goal and never got caught. But where did the super-powered entity jump to? The Variant opened a portal and Loki jumped in after them. The next episode will probably start with the origin of the other Loki, but it will also probably immediately get into what apocalypse they’re hiding in. If it’s an apocalypse at all.
