From director Jodie Foster, Home for the Holidays stars Holly Hunter as single mother Claudia Larson, who ventures home to Baltimore on her own to spend Thanksgiving with her family. Claudia quickly becomes exhausted by her family’s quirks and big personalities, as you’re wont to do during the holidays.

However, Claudia’s Thanksgiving looks up when she hits it off with her brother Tommy’s (Downey) friend, Leo (Dylan McDermott). Foster allowed Downey to exercise his comedy chops with improvisation, making for an energetic performance his fans will love.
