8 current and former WWE superstars ready for comic book projects
By Mark Lynch
Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns has turned himself into one of the biggest stars in WWE history. That’s not an exaggeration. He’s defended his Universal Championship title for over a year and managed to win every time and put on a show no matter who he’s wrestling. On top of the incredible streak and matches, his promos have been masterful. If this was a couple of years ago, Roman wouldn’t make this list. Now, he’s become the WWE’s next big star.
Roman Reigns deserves a big role – someone that can show off his arrogant heel persona. The God of War Ares fits perfectly. Marvel Comics’ Ares knows how good he is and tells everyone who listens. This is exactly what Roman does every week. Give him a giant axe and let him hack away at the heroes of the MCU. Roman even has the body of a Greek God. What else do you need?
Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks has been a fan favorite since her days in NXT. It goes beyond her stuff in the WWE. Banks is also a huge comic book, anime, and Star Wars fan. She even lived out a dream when she played a role in The Mandalorian. It would be cool to see her achieve another one by being in a comic book project. Instead of Marvel or DC, put Sasha Banks in a Saga project.
The Saga comic book series sends the lead characters all over the universe. Because of this, there are a plethora of characters she could play. If this writer had a pick, he’d say she should play Izabel, Sophia, or Gwendolyn. She could also play a random being from Landfall or their moon works as well.
There’s also Kelly Sue DeConnick’s Bitch Planet – a series that revolves around a planet that houses only women criminals. Seeing Sasha Banks as one of the powerful women revolting would fit her character. This could turn into a role where she could shine bright.
What do you think? Are there other past or present WWE stars that should appear in a Marvel or DC Comics project? Let us know in the comments below.
