The Walking Dead best duos: Daryl and Rick

These two faces of the franchise have been an iconic duo for longer than pretty much everyone else, from season one all the way to season nine. They have each other’s backs no matter what the situation.

I think every Walking Dead fan shed a tear when Daryl referred to Rick as his brother in “Find Me.” What they’ve been through, the enemies they’ve faced together, there is a unique bond between these two. Everything our survivors have faced, Rick and Daryl have been there side-by-side fighting for a better future.

Unfortunately, Rick’s vision for the future of Alexandria came crashing down in season nine when he was carried away, severely injured, in a CRM helicopter. However, Daryl and the rest of the group were led to believe he had died. During the enormous time jump, Daryl would spend his days searching in vain for Rick’s corpse for closure.

Regardless of how things ended up between them, these two will forever be the show’s power duo. Perhaps their story isn’t yet over and they’ll reunite sometime in the future. We can hope.
