Reprising his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy, McGregor plays the character for the first time since 2005’s Revenge of the Sith in a saga that explores how Obi-Wan leaves Tatooine to embark on a “rollicking adventure”.
This is only the beginning of the Star Wars resurgence, as a new season of The Mandalorian awaits (which will arrive next year), along with new shows from the franchise including Andor, Ahsoka, The Acolyte, Lando and Skeleton Crew.

The sixth and final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1 will be released on Disney Plus in the United States on Wednesday, June 22. While the first two episodes debuted on a Friday, the show has now moved to the service’s regular Wednesday premiere slot (which it now shares with Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel).
