The Boys season 3: 7 crucial moments from episode 5
By Mark Lynch
6. Queen Maeve, Butcher, and Homelander
Queen Maeve is playing a dangerous game working with Billy Butcher. The duo are doing whatever they can to take Homelander down, including supplying Butcher with Compound V24 and letting him know that there’s a weapon that can take out Soldier Boy and hopefully Homelander. Unfortunately, Homelander smelled Butcher on her. Before Maeve could leave, Black Noir grabs Maeve.
That’s the last we see of Maeve in this episode. Ashley Barrett says she’s in a place to get help for her problems. Where she really is remains a mystery. Is Maeve dead, somewhere chained to a wall, or is she being tortured by Black Noir? The latter may be the one. Let’s not forget she shoved an Almond Joy down his throat and Noir has a peanut allergy.
5. Kimiko and her powers
When Soldier Boy blasted Kimiko, she didn’t heal. This is the first time this happened since she got her powers. After she wakes up in a hospital in America, Kimiko is ecstatic that she could feel pain and didn’t have her super-strength. Her powers are gone and she couldn’t be happier. So much that she danced and sang in her dreams.
This won’t be a permanent thing. One of two things will happen. Kimiko’s healing factor will kick back in and she’ll regain her abilities. Or she’ll have to save Frenchie and she’ll take Compound V to save his life. Regardless, this is probably temporary.
