14. Arthur Harrow

Marvel project: Moon Knight

Actor: Ethan Hawke

In the comics, Moon Knight doesn’t have a lot of villains that would woo an audience. There isn’t a Loki or Thanos in his rogues gallery. This worked in the show’s favor, giving the creative team liberty to mold a character into something that fit the show. They chose Arthur Harrow and made him the perfect opening villain for Marc Spector/Steven Grant and Khonshu.

Arthur was both sympathetic and evil. His heart was in the right place. However, he didn’t care how many people were hurt in the process. The latter ends up negating the former. Despite knowing this, it was easy to see why people followed him. Ethan Hawke made Harrow look like the most charismatic person in the world.

13. Layla El-Faouly

Marvel project: Moon Knight

Actress: May Calamawy

In the comics, Marc Spector’s love interest is a woman named Marlene. Moon Knight created a Layla El-Faouly and made her everything Marlene was and more. A woman that didn’t take any of Marc Spector’s mess and put him in his place when needed. She didn’t allow anyone to control or talk down to her. She was the perfect person to complement Marc and Steven. She also made him a better character.

Layla was more than worthy of being the avatar of Khonshu. She was a skilled killer, spy, and ended up becoming the avatar of Taweret. Taweret may have been a better fit for her anyway. This deity didn’t manipulate her followers. There definitely needs to be more Layla in Moon Knight if the show returns for a second season.
