6. Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Infinity War, the third Avengers film in the MCU, brought together a massive ensemble cast of characters from across the MCU. Chris Evans reprised his role as Steve Rogers/Captain America, a character he had been playing for seven years at that point. While Evans’ performance in the film is still strong, the sheer number of characters sharing the screen with him limits the amount of screen time and character development he receives.
In Infinity War, Captain America is part of a large group of heroes tasked with stopping the villainous Thanos from collecting the six Infinity Stones, which would grant him the power to wipe out half of all life in the universe. As such, there are many moving parts to the story, and Captain America’s individual story arc takes a bit of a backseat to the overall plot.
Additionally, with so many other characters vying for screen time, Captain America doesn’t have as many standout moments as he did in his solo films or even in the earlier Avengers movies. That being said, Evans still delivers a solid performance, and fans of the character will undoubtedly enjoy seeing him in action alongside so many other beloved MCU heroes.
