1. The Fantastic Four

Okay, so we’re cheating here (this is four characters in one rather than one single member of the team) and we know for a fact that a lot of people are scratching their heads, trying to figure out just how the Fantastic Four are number one on this list.

There is one reason and one reason only that we’ve putting the four characters on this list together. The Fantastic Four was Stan Lee’s first ever creation. They didn’t debut until 1961, which gives you an idea of how long Marvel has been going but also how old some of the amazing heroes and villains are.

Lee worked with Jack Kirby, remember the guy behind so many other pre-Lee Marvel characters, on the fantastic bunch. It was the success of the four that led to many other characters being created. In fact, the due brought in what is known as the Silver Age of Comic Books.

While the comic characters have been a huge success, their movies sadly have not. There have been multiple attempts to bring the characters to life (with Captain America’s Chris Evans playing the Human Torch at one point) but none of the movies have taken off the ground. However, the comics are still going to this day and almost everyone has heard of them.

If it wasn’t for The Fantastic Four, Stan Lee wouldn’t have had the chance to create any others and that means they deserve this number one spot. I will fight you for their right to be here!
